Built by people who lived the mission.
iVETS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by a Navy veteran and a global software entrepreneur — both of whom know what it means to need a second chance and a first real opportunity.
The Institute for Veterans and Emerging Technology Skills prepares military veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and underserved populations for careers in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technology. We do it through accelerated, applied, employer-aligned training, delivered on live production hardware at The Enterprise Building in San Bernardino, California.
We believe the people who served this country, who aged out of foster care, who survived what no one should have to survive, and who are rebuilding their lives deserve more than a simulator and a hopeful referral. They deserve a real lab, a real credential, and a real employer waiting on the other side.

iVETS operates as part of a three-organization workforce ecosystem, each with a distinct legal structure and mission:
- iVETS 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Veteran-focused training delivery, SkillBridge pathway, grant and philanthropic funding.
- STEMworx Public Benefit Corporation. Curriculum design and bespoke workforce execution. Its PBC structure requires community benefit to weigh equally with financial performance.
- ETA Group Commercial software and infrastructure partner. Provides the live datacenter, employer network, and enterprise integration capability. Learn more at etagroup.com →
Together, these three organizations do what no single institution can: build, train, place, and pay.
iVETS was founded on a simple observation: the veterans, foster youth, survivors, and reentry populations who stand to gain the most from the AI revolution are the ones least likely to be reached by traditional education.
Feras Khatib — a U.S. Navy veteran — spent decades building a global software company that hires the kind of technical talent iVETS now trains.
Alan Stanly co-built that same global software company and, decades later, created a facility in downtown San Bernardino designed to pay opportunity forward — at scale.
70,000 square feet across from San Bernardino City Hall. iVETS, ETA Group, and a floor-by-floor ecosystem of partner organizations — serving veterans in crisis, foster youth, domestic violence survivors, autistic learners, and the formerly incarcerated.
iVETS is the technology career pathway for every one of those populations.
Values
We are not accredited, and we don't pretend to be. Our graduates carry the weight of what they actually built.
Life does not move on semesters. Neither do we.
Every person we serve has already survived something. Our job is to equip them, not to pity them.
A certificate that doesn't lead to a paycheck is a lie we refuse to tell.
501(c)(3) Status
